At the start of the year, all available space was put to use to fit the needs of the expanding academic program. The upstairs art gallery hosted business law, data processing and singing stu- dents. The student center, adjacent the gymnasium, housed the majorettes and spirited cheerleaders. The social studies conference room, C-12, was turned into a regular classroom. In 1972, the football stadium was renovated. A pressbox, new scoreboard, and an all-weather track were added, while the stadium bleachers, seating 4,000 people, were re- surfaced. In 1976, a baseball diamond with its own pressbox was added to replace the two torn down to make room for the career center. Uncle Sam added on one percent to round out the figure. 4 Opening
