hop Teaches Boys Industrial GKnow-How, Many, many courses are offered at Warren but perhaps the various industrial arts courses are among the most interesting for Warren boys. In the several shops the boys may extri- cate their talents into whatever phase they are best suited. Each of the courses offered, if taken for two semesters and passed satisfac- torily, will add two credits toward a boy's graduation. Drafting I and II may be taken by boys of the tenth grade, and rna- chine shop, wood shop and printing may be taken by sophomores, juniors, or seniors. Me- chanical drafting may also be taken by juniors and seniors, but architectural drafting is made available only to seniors. This year 460 boys participated in practical application in different phases of shop work. Many of the boys undoubtedly have opened the door to their career and many also have probably discovered that their talent does not lie in this field.

Classes Stress Value of ound Body-Mind This model being shown to a safety and health class by Wendell Roberts is one of the many teaching aids available for use by students in the Health Department. Physical Education plays an important part in every freshman's life. This course not only develops the physical being, but also develops many skills, abilities, and de- sirable health habits. Physical Education helps the individual attain the responsibili- ties of leadership, develops fellowship, and a pleasing personality. The Physical Education boasts an enrollment of 327 students and is, for the girls, a one-half credit course integrated with Health. The boys, on the other hand, take Physical Education for one whole year and receive one full credit. Department One, two, three, fourg one, two, three, four, from sit-ups to deep knee bends, physical education classes exercise daily to keep physically fit. Every sophomore boy is required to include in his schedule safety and health. Wendell Roberts, safety and health instructor, directs the sopho- more boys in this course. First aid is included in this course, and is necessary for graduation. Two awarded students successfully com- credits are pleting the full year of safety and health. Health, Education, which is integrated with Physical is required for the freshman girls. This course is under the direction of Miss Sarah Shute and one-half credit is awarded to each girl concluding this course. The Health and Safety Department boasts an enrollment of 335 students.

The enrollment in Latin is' the largest of the foreign languages. Latin not only gives the pupil a knowledge of a foreign language, but. helps him with English. Linguists Study Verbs Plus Countr Customs If you are a student of a foreign language, you probably never have your translation done and are always studying vocabulary words. There are approximately 215 students en- rolled in the foreign language department. The largest department is Latin with an en- rollment of 146. The Latin Department has three main events during the year. New Latin students are initiated by taking the Trip through Hades. Later in the year, students may volunteer their services and be sold in the Slave Sale. Everyone enjoys the Floralia Page twenty-eight season which brings beautiful spring flowers and delicious candy. On Pan American Day, the Spanish classes present an annual program. This year the Spanish students took a trip to Chicago for a week-end. The French classes seem to be steadily growing. Now in their second year, they have an enrollment of thirteen. This year the French students had two men from France visit their class. The Frenchmen compared the American way of living with their own.
