The band provides music for ball games, parades, pep ses- sions, and convocations, while the orchestra plays for more formal affairs such as the annual mother and daughter tea, receptions, and graduation. Joint concerts are given and both enter solo and ensemble contests in the winter. lt isn't all work and no play for these groups, though, parties and good times are enioyed by all. Many lasting friendships are formed through the close associ- ation in band and orchestra. The end of the school year finds our musicians happy that the busy times are over for a while.
