Football Football at Warren Central is still in its infancy; the game was installed last year as a major sport in the school’s activities. Under the excellent tutelage of Coach Stirling and Assistant Coach Acker, the players this year showed a marked improvement over last years squad and from indications next year’s team will be even more improved. Basketball The outstanding contests for the Warrior cage- men during the current season were two victories over Ben Davis, 35-21, and 29 - 27, and a victory over Broad Ripple 37 - 21. The team was com- posed of five seniors, three juniors, and two fresh- men, Gene Kirkpatrick was the leading scorer. At the close of the season Lawrence O’Conner was elected honorary captain of the squad. Track Of the several sports at Warren Central, track overshadowed only by basketball, draws the most attention to Warren’s athletic activities. With an impressive record of eight county championships since 1926, when the sport was in- corporated into the school’s athletic curriculum, Warren Central has gained the distinction of win- ning the event more times than any of the other county schools.
