ARIN in the fall the Student Council was installed at an all-school assembly. This year the council greatly broadened its field of work and carried out its aims of fostering a better school spirit and of promoting cooperation and friendship. This representative body sponsored gym-jams, noon and evening dances, and inexpensive dancing lessons. lt also engaged in welfare work, paid for DRAGON pictures of nonsupporting clubs, and brought outstanding assemblies to the student body. On February 23 and 2-l the entire building was turned over to the .111-Srlmol Crzrniwzl. The small gym became a midway, the cafeteria held a bingo stand, and ordinarily staid classrooms accommodated side shows and a sample fair. Confections and hot dogs were sold in the halls. High lights of each evening were the auditorium show, the gym show, and the dance. A combination radio-victrola with loudspeakers in each gymnasium was purchased to be used at dances, as a public address system in the auditorium, and as entertainment for students arriving early.
