DREFACE I The theme of the 1940 DRAGON revolves around the story of the preparation of Warren High School students for better citizenship in the community. This autobiogra- phy of the Class of 1940 records for future years our activities and our associations with our classmates and our teachers. ln our school we experience an important phase of life, which is waylaid by dozens of trivial details: fads, fashions, dates, plays, carni- vals, and many other extra-curricu- lar activities. Then Commence- ment, and on to the future! During our school life we have been broadening our views, and slowly edging into community life. Finally recognized as full-fiedged individuals, we take our places as worthy citizens in the community. How often do our thoughts trav- erse the long way back to our high school days! As the Romans of old constructed their solid roadbeds, we, THE DRAGON staff, build our road, a pathway leading to that glorious past, Warren High School.
