To Students in Warren High School: Meo Yung observed about 100 years after the birth of Christ that people who have seen little are easily astonished. If he Were living today, he would find in the midst of all our present problems, each of us still limited by our horizon of experience and training. Seeing camels may not be of importance today, but to see things as they really are, to read carefully, to write clearly, to speak effec- tively, to think straightly, to accept responsibility, to believe passion- ately in democracy and all its possibilities - these are assets of real Worth. These are the characteristics and abilities which Warren High School would help you build into your living and thinking. We hope that every day may be for each of you one of astonish- ment, not because you are easily astonished, having seen little, but because you have climbed high enough to have a vast horizon and appreciate the Worth-Whileness of living in 1939.
