G some NVHOLEBEN Vice-President ......,.. ..,....,,,.. R IYRON JEWELL Secretary ......,........... ,,......... A NNETTE STONE i Treasurer ..........,..........,....,.. .......,.,......,.. F RED GEBHARDT For several years the Alumni Association was content to mere- ly fete the members of the graduating class by giving a banquet in their honor at the end of the school year. In 1925, however, the ambitious ofhcers of that year decided that the activities of aigrow- ing organization, such as ours, should be more expansive. They at once set about to complete the Alumni Hling system. In this system each member is listed by name on a card bearing his name, address, and the year in which he graduated. This file, which is now complete to date, furnishes an excellent record. In this same year H9255 the Association began to tax each member one dollar per year. The purpose of this taxing was to build up in the treas- ury a fund which would be sufficient to award a scholarship each year to a student of the graduating class. This student was to be selected by competitive examinations. It was specified also that this student must be one who desired higher education, but who did not have the means, financially speaking, of getting it. This fund has now reached quite a satisfying amount, but it is not yet sufficient to begin the awarding of scholarships. The officers last year added another interesting feature to the Alumni activities. They decided to select, each year, some graduate who has made a name for himself since leaving Warren High School, and to place his name in the Alumni Hall of Fame. This idea will undoubtedly prove to be of great success, and it should arouse much interest among the members of the Association. At this time the VVarren High School Alumni Association wishes to congratulate each member of the graduating class of 1930, and it extends to them, as futuremembers of that organiza- tion, a hearty welcome. -- GEORGE VVHOLEBEN. 10 ig..-
