ENSEMBLES A very important part of the outreach of the college is the ensembles. These groups sing in local churches and often accompany faculty and student speakers out of the state. They make a great contribution to the churches and for the school with the musical message they present. This summer two of these ensembles, the Ioybells and the Conchorclaires, will travel for the school presenting musical concerts in churches from the West to the East Coast. This type of evangelism is not only a spiritual blessing but is a big help in promoting the school and recruiting new students. ORATORIO SOCIETY The Oratorio Society, which is the largest organized group on -campus, is composed of about seventy members. The group makes a great contribu- tion to the Fine Arts program of the college. This year the society sang excerpts from Handel's MESSIAH in the all-school presentation of the pageant The Messiah Is Come. In the spring they presented Upon This Rock, an oratorio based upon episodes in the life of the Apostle Peter. The author of this work is Henry Robert Wilson.
