The long record of history is the mirror of life in its ceaseless conflict with an environment to which it must learn to adapt itself and control, or go the way of the dinosaur. These problems are the chief concern of education. lt was Montaigne who said, The object of education is to make not a scholar, but a man. There is always the underlying basis to occupy our concern. Life tends to sink into a groove. The reason we cease to mature is because we have exhausted our resources. To open the door to the limitless re- sources awaiting exploration and conquest is a serious goal. From here the individual should be prepared to strike out on his own.
