The FTA Club is certainly a worthwhile organization for anyone interested in going into the teaching profession. The F in the name of the club represents the Future. The T stands for teacher, while the A stands for America. All these are symbolic of the meaning of the club. The purpose of the club is to help future teachers to learn more about the teaching profession, to culti- vate character qualities in a good teacher, and to develop leadership. A scholarship is given to a member of the club at the end of the year. The profits received from selling candy and food go to this cause. Dues, in the amount of ten cents, are collected at every meeting. The meetings are held on alternate Mondays. Under the leadership of Mrs. Spencer, the Future Teachers' Club has accomplished many things and will continue to do so in the future. OFFICERS ADVISOR ff . I QQ? One can earn membership in this Society by diligent study, strong character, a dis- play of leadership ability, and active service to the community and to the school. This year, W.H.S. can again claim strong academic spirit in the light of the activities of the Honor So- ciety. The spirit of support for the High School Bowls has been high. The addition of a new buzzer sys- tem has enlivened the competition, and the serious involvement of the Honor Society students in competi- tion has helped broaden general knowledge and has proved very worthwhile. The future holds bright promise for Wareham's academic development. This Society is only a foreshadowing of things to come. ADVISOR OFFICERS SEATED: R. Paling, President. STANDING: B.
