Eearhnnk gl fi :gi A' . 2' 3 if-t Back: Stephanie Drew, Valerie Blanchenay, Gregg Golub, Lisa Zeidenberg. Front: Colleen Mahony, Karen Bernstein, Peter Bilello, Iessica Miller, Ellen Zimmerli. Having known three of the past Editors-in-Chief, I was led to believe by them that putting together a yearbook is a very demanding job. I soon found out that they weren't kidding. Putting together sixteen pages for the initial deadline can lull a yearbook staff into a false sense of security. However, when the fact that the next deadline is 94 pages hits you Qsomething like the proverbial ton of bricks J, that's when the work really starts, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the few people, of the initial hundred or so who expressed interest, who were dedicated enough to get this tremendous job done. First, I would like to thank Karen Bernstein, Lisa Zeidenberg, and Col- leen Mahony, who were always there with a Quad-Pack and a Techni-Cropper or hunched over a typewriter pecking away at the keys. Next I would like to thank my assistant, jessica Miller, who did those multitudinous little jobs without which nothing would have come together. As a finance editor Penny Furness could probably draw blood from a stone. Finally, I would like to express my thanks to Peter Bilello, my photography editor and right-hand-man, without whom I probably would have gone crazy. I would also like to thank those other people Cyou know who you arel who helped make this yearbook a success. I hope everyone who is reading this enjoys having this year- book as much as we enjoyed producing it. Thank you, Gary Lowitt Si. A Gary Lowitt Editor-in-Chief

To become one of this year's 130 Honor Society members, each student had to maintain a 3.5 overall grade point average and to display qualities of leadership, character, service and scholarship. The major event run by the Honor Society this year was the Superdance. The 12 hour dance raised over 59,000 for the benefit of the Muscular Distrophy Association. Merchants of the Three Village area donated prizes and food. One of the biggest supporters, Goodskates, donated the sound system for the night of the dance and the proceeds from a Melville night at the rink. Mr. Vitberg, the advisor for the Honor Society, was a great help in organizing this dance. atinnal Brit Srhnlarzhip Semi-illinalliziz ' I . , ha has 1 . a,s....iv:me MM .--..,u.,.
