To become one of this year's 130 Honor Society members, each student had to maintain a 3.5 overall grade point average and to display qualities of leadership, character, service and scholarship. The major event run by the Honor Society this year was the Superdance. The 12 hour dance raised over 59,000 for the benefit of the Muscular Distrophy Association. Merchants of the Three Village area donated prizes and food. One of the biggest supporters, Goodskates, donated the sound system for the night of the dance and the proceeds from a Melville night at the rink.
