We feel that in this present chaotic state it is a necessity for people to have a clearer perception of truth, which constitutes the major portion of knowledge. It has been said, If we have moved up at all out of the darkness, it is because a few dared to walk ahead in the sun. It is a must that there be more than a few who endeavor to go beyond. We hope that this dedication will be an incentive to those who have contemplated walking ahead, but have never taken the first step. -3- v-.f- ' N TABLE OF CONTENTS Board of Educatlon Admuustratlon Faculty Seruors 8 5 16-41 Undergraduates ACf.1V1t18S Sports Advertxsmg 4259 6083 8497 98112 1 , V ,N V . , 1 j ff 4 A X '. - - 1 x v K H X xx .I X ,V A ' me 1 , 4 y ,- 4 p 13 X 1 ,f ' 5 x ' X K LX Q i - K I L N N L , ,X X V . fr Q 2 2, A i , I 2 if Xxx ' uf S ff K f . 9' , f . y ' ' ,ff . In spite of the fact that we do not often see the members of the Board of Education and, in fact, do not give them much thought, we are now becoming increasingly conscious of their efforts to better all phases of our scholastic life. For many years the Board has formed the policies by which our school has prospered and expanded. Fruits of their work can be seen in the new Vassar Road School. We are truly grateful for the extensive work that has been done by these public-spirited men and we thank them as a student body for their efforts. For the first time in its history the Honor Society has published a rragazine com- posed of the outstanding creative accomplishments of students at Wappingers. The magazine is an attempt to stimulate the creative talents of all the students in our school. The entire society hopes that the magazine will be carried on in the years to come and that eventually it will become a Wappingers annual. On May 3 the twenty-two members of the society ventured to New York to see the Broadway show Bells are Ringing starring Judy Holiday. A very enjoyable time was had by all. Junior Varsity Cheerleaders This year our student body has shown a consider- able amount of school spirit. Everyone is Very glad to see this as our teams Gnd it much easier to win when backed by cheering fellow students and friends. The Varsity and J.V. Cheerleaders, with the guidance of Mrs. Russell. have done their best to promote spirit and support for the various athletic teams. They have practiced long and hard and have added some new cheers to their previous repertoire. With the aid of co-captain Anita Perlini, Jackie Schlag has led the Varsity Cheerleaders to expand their efforts and boundless energy in cheering our talented varsity teams on to victorious football and basketball seasons. Although the members of the Junior Varsity squad are usually younger, they do not lack the vigor and spirit of the Varsity girls. Eleanor Valachovic as captain and Marcia Connary as co-captain have led the squad to cheer the J.V. teams with as much zest and as heartily as the Varsity girls pour forth their efforts. We are very proud of these girls and wish to thank them for their untiring eiforts. Front Row fl to rl M Kerr N Macomber Sec Row P Lopez E Valachovic R C1v1tano M Conary ond Row: T.
