Jumor' C1088 Off1C8rS President J Leary Vice President B Dahl m Secretary J Owen Treasurer E Kane To go into detail as to just what the done since they became upper classmen would be However, to touch llghtly on each trlumph of an easy way to describe the many things that accomplished class of 'L2 has a difficult task 'LO 'Ll would be the Juniors have The Juniors started the year out with a bang when a group of over more than three qu rters of the class attended dancing classes last fall Following th1s, the Junlors held a get to gether whlch was the most successful party this year, their Halloween party in October December was the month when the most elaborate cake sale ever to be held at Wapfingers Central School ralsed the class' flnances cons1derably The Junior Hop on January llth, with the La Falce Brothers orchestra, was the scene of the happiest dance of the year The Moonlight Sonataq dances held by the class each Saturday, were for the purpose of raising money for decorat1ons for the Prom in June The class also held a successful St Patrick's Day party The Senior Band coald almost be called the Juniors' Band, when it comes to the number of Juniors participating in the musical activities Among them are B111 Hummell, president, Katherine Semack, librarian, Janet Dey, willlam Diener, Olga De Gregorio, Richard Dilkes, Gregory Harrison, Patty Oliva, Nicholas Garnot, John McCarthy, and James Bailey The members of the boys' basketball team were the champions in the inter mural games, and many of the Juniors are on the Junior Varsity or Varsity basketball squad These are such notables as Joe Ward, N1ChO18S Pulichene, Al Canale, Nick Cafaro, John DeMarco, and John Andrews. One of the best hitters on the baseball team, John DeMarco is a Junior. Other baseball players, and good ones, are Nino De Gregorio, Nicholas Pulichene, Joe Fulton, and Al C81'18l6 Q The players that practically made up the football team were Sam y Mucci, Maurice Ashley, John Andrews, Nicholas fulichene, and Fanny Morretoni. Then, too, the Wappingers Central School cheers are ably led by a number of Juniors: Susan Knight, Margery De Voc, Anna McDonough, Jack Sullivan, and Noreen Rose. u . Sophomore Class Offlcers President C Knight Vice President N Parnot Secretary Treasurer J Pratten The Sophomore class assembled at a meet1ng in October, l940, electing Clarence Kninht, Jr , as Iresldent, Nick Garnot, as Vice president, and John Pratten, as Secretary Treasurer Another meetlng was held 1n the latter part of October, its purpose was to discuss Freshman day It was decided that Freshman day was to be held seventh period the following Fr1day afternoon ln the gymnasium The Sophomores declded to make that three quarters of an hour a very embarasslng one The Freshmen certainly did suffer wh1le dO1ng several h1laTiOUS acts One was a WG1amour Boyu testants had to feed each other, blindfolded, candy which was blackened with charcoal dust The express1ons on their faces as they removed the blindfolds and saw their partners' smudved faces was the hlgh comic po1nt of the 1n1t1at1on After Freshmen day and throughout the winter season the class was very idle until Thursday, March 20, l94l, when the class called a meeting and decided to hold an Aprll Fool's Party 1D the gymnaslum on April l, 1941 A magority of the Sophomores attended th1s party, dancing from 7 30 unt1l 10 O0 P h Also durlng th1s time, games were played and refreshments were served The Sophomores class had hoped for another such party but they found that no time was available 7 , . parade, and another a marshmallow eating contest in which con- .i.
