At the end of the first quarter, it was tied 14-14, and the Wildcats led only 32-31 at the half. They were again tied 48-48 at the end of third quarter, but we won the game to give us a 1-0 Kickapoo Conference lead. Basketball will keep us to gether. Fly Tommy Fly My eyes adore you, basketball, Oh where, oh where did that little ball go? Red, White, Blue—we love you During the Varsity half, the pom pon girls performed a flashy routine to Albert Flasher . They dazzled the crowd with kicks and moves never before used by the girls. The Junior Varsity put up a good tough fight but were still overcome by the Commanches. Over all, it was a very exciting Homecoming game for everyone, and we're really proud of our Wildcats. That ain't no way to treat our Eddie. C H E E R L E A D E R S STUDENT COUNCIL We would like to take this opportunity to thank the DeWitt County Museum Association for allowing us to use the house and grounds of The Homestead as the background for several of our pictures this year. Also, Thank you to Mrs. Roberta Robinson for all her patience and cooperation when our students moved in. The Retro Staff greatly appreciated being able to add a little bit of history to this yearbook with the help of the Homestead. It was to be the dream house of John and Minerva Moore Bishop. John Bishop, a prosperous grain and lumber dealer in Clinton, started building in 186i. But the Civil War delayed the work. It was not until 1867 that the house was finished. Before he died in 1881, Mr. Bishop sold the house to his brother-in-law, the Honorable Clifton H. Moore, a prominent attorney and financier in Clinton. Mr. Moore died in 1901, and the house gradually deteriorated until the DeWitt County Museum Association began restoration in 1967. Today it is a well-preserved example of how a well-to-do family lived in a small town in Mid America in the 1880's.
