GREETINGS! World Peace or World Chaos! To which of these conditions will you be found contributing after you leave the portals of the Public School to take a place in the ‘Space-Age’ world? You are entering an era in which opportunities for careers are more abundant than ever before; every field of endeavor is in short supply of able, trained people. Somewhere among the youth of today are minds capable of discovering ways to world peace, ways to new appreciation of beauty in art, literature, or music, ways to deeper and more fulfilling lives, just as there have been minds capable of splitting the atom. Through concerted effort on the part of the home, the church and the school, moral integrity and mental development have been made possible for you. Swpmttte idM'b Congratulations graduates of 1963. As you embark upon the world of today, one of our most prominent difficulties is Universal peace. In the final analysis, removal of the military obstacles to world peace--like all other obstacles--depends upon the possession and growth of ideals in the hearts of men. The spiritual and intellectual field is the real battleground upon which the future of the world will be decided. It is evident, therefore, that the major task for each of us today is to utilize every talent we possess with the utmost vigor, vision, and creative imagination to help make American ideals and principles felt throughout the earth. There is nothing more important in this endeavor than developing in our “younger generation” a solemn sense of obligations of citizenship and providing them with the spiritual and intellectual resources necessary to meet them. 6
