SPONSORS AG BAWL On Ihe evening of November 26, l958, I saw couples enfering lhe school in all sorls of weslern garb, so I peeked inlo lhe calelorium. Balod sfraw and shocks of corn were everywhere, and on one wall hung big Ielfers which spelled oul Sfairway Io The Barn. I knew lhen 'rhal lhis was Ihe annual Ag Bawl sponsored by The Wapalo Chapler of fhe Fulure Farmers of America. During inlerrnission, several boys and girls go? up on a big pile of slraw and one of 'rhe boys pu? a frown on a girl's head and kissed her. I learned Ialer ihal fhe boy was F.F.A. President Norman I-Iilberf, and Ihe girl, Lynda Palnode, Chapfer Sweelhearl. Lynda's princesses, Karen Wolover, Judi Brandi, Karen Schroeder, Sue Delozier, and Linda Klebaum, were escorled by The FFA, officers. Sharron McG-riff and Sieve Miller were chosen as lhe besl-dressed singles and Bob Heim and Janice Giles as lhe besl-dressed couple. To enferfain The Sweelhearl and her courl, Sam Kemplon and Lowell Becker presenled a comedy enfilled ldioI' Io Idiot and lhe Sugar Tones sang No More. Music was provided by lhe Melodians, who accomrnodaled Mrs. Slephens wifh several barn dances, which she inlroduced fo lhe sludenls. SNO-BALL FEATURES GAY CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS As l siop fo recall lhe evenis of ihe year, one dance ihai especially slands ou in my memory is Jrhe Sno-Ball. This was held in ihe caieiorium on December I3, 1958 I could see swishing iormals and siill whiie shirls, as couples danced +o ihe music of Swede Miller and his band. The ballroom was decoraied io ihe iheme Silver Bells. Small bells and blue spu+nilcs were sirung across ihe room, meeling ai a poini above The ihrone Silver sprayed 'irees and a large sleigh on one wall compleied 'rhe decoraiions. During iniermission The coronaiion of ihe lcing and queen 'roolc place. A.S.B. Pres idenl Bill Labberlon crowned Queen Lynda Fisher, and A.S.B. Social Chairman Wyomi Winder crowned King Kenneih Badgley. Olhers in ihe courl were Princesses Elaini Whiiener and Robin Rowe, and Princes Bill Rilchie and Bill Douglas.
