SPONSORS NUMEROUS ACTIVITIES One Wednesday aTTernoon aT 4:00 p.m. l happened To be in The chorus room when all of a sudden girls sTarTed Tilling The place up. l wondered whaT iT was all abouT unTiI one oT The girls called The group To order and announced ThaT anoTher meeTing of The Girls' AThleTic AssociaTion was under way. The group Then discussed someThing They called a swimming-TheaTer parTy, which had Taken place a Tew days before, on OcTober 25, and said They could hardly waiT Tor The nexT one someTime in April. They were also quiTe concerned wiTh Their bowling scores, having been inTroduced To This sporT aT The new WapaTo Bowling Lanes during SepTember TurnouTs. They were anxious Tor January To roll around when Their TurnouTs would again Talce Them bowling. The highlighT oT The meeTing was The discussion of an expense-paid Trip To one of The larger nearby ciTies Tor girls wh'o earned over S30 Tor The club. LasT year The winners wenT To SeaTTle and had an excepTionally good Time. OTher discussion involved volleyball and badminTon, which were being played during The monThs of OcTober and November, and resulTed in a Playday aT WapaTo on November 22, Tor many Valley schools. The group, under The advice oT Mrs. STephens, also sponsored Tall and spring poT-luck game nighTs. one Tor moThers and daughTers, and anoTher Tor TaThers and daughTers. Fund-raising proiecTs included selling raTTle TiclceTs, selling pencils wiTh baslceTball schedules on Them, and sponsoring aTTer-game dances.
