GIRLS GET BEHIND THE SENIOR CLASS Whew! We finally made it! We hit the top notch on the totem pole, and have diplomas to prove it. As low men on the fabled pole, we chose Carol Hicks to lead our class and Philip Schlenker as Vice President. Helen Dick served as Secretary-Treasurer and Stella Stroebel as Service Director. Eloise Maxson represented our class in the Snowball court. Our sophomore year was highlighted by victory in the magazine sales and a considerable increase in our treasury. Co-presidents, Joy Fisher and Philip Schlenker were assisted by Denny Link. Offices of Secretary-Treasurer and Service Director were filled by Chris Oyer and Fred Shuster respectively. Chris Oyer was our Homecoming attendent. Our junior year began with another tied vote in the class presidential election. John Elshire and Bruce Kolter shared the post as chief executives. No. 2 spot was held by Denny Link, with Judy Brading as Secretary-Treasurer and Rod Swonguer as Service Director. Our Jr. class play, “I Was a Teenage Dracula,” was a huge success, as was Raintree Fantasy, our Junior-Senior Prom. Kay Fritz and Jerry Howe were selected for Girl’s and Boy’s State; while Stella Stroebel and Rod Swonguer represented our school at the Music Workshop. Homecoming attendent, Helen Dick, represented our class this year. Arriving at the summit of our high school career, we were confronted by a flurry of activity. Mimicking our federal government, we elected Jack Kennedy as president of the student council. For the officers of our class we chose Bruce Kolter for president and Jerry Howe, Kay Fritz, and Judy Schlenker for the other offices. Kay Fritz was honored as Homecoming Queen for 1962, with Helen Dick and Judy Brading as senior attendents. Again we triumphed by winning the $100 prize in the magazine drive. As our final year draws to a close, we are proud to realize that our class was the first to go completely through the two newest schools, Centennial and Wapakoneta High. Donna Jean Wisneer won the Betty Crocker Homemaking Contest. SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Left to right: Jerry Howe, Vice President; Bmce Kolter, President; Judy Schlenker, Service Director; Kay Fritz, Secretary. 12
