Senior Class History When our class first entered high school in 1954, we already felt quite mature, for we were no longer in junior high. We weren’t used to clanging bells and the bewilderment of changing classes. That year was our first opportunity to choose a few of our courses. In the spring our outstanding band was fortunate enough to participate in the annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D. C. Many members of our class were among the proud marchers who paraded down Pennsylvania Ave. Our football team also did very well. We defeated St. Marys for the first time-in 9 years! Linda Lament was our class president, while Mary Lou Antram, Sharon Camper and Barbara Chiles served as vice president, service director and secretary-treasurer, respectively. We really felt like “top brass” our sophomore year because we hail the little freshmen beneath us. Linda Lament led us from her position of president, while Jon Brewer, Susan Cornell and Sharon Camper collaborated as vice president, secretary and service director. That year we became active in the many organizations and activities. Our band continued as the most outstanding in the district, and our football team tied for second in the league and, again, upset St. Marys. During our junior year we witnessed many memorable moments. We were really “riding high” when we received our class rings. Our class play “Mr. Angel , was a wonderful success, but was only one of the highlights of our year. Widi spring came the spring carnival and the junior-senior prom which was the special treat of the year. Mary Lou Antram was bestowed the honor of class president, Clyde Berry was vice-president, Barbara Chiles was secretary, and Sally Martin was service director. Here we were at last on top of the list. Le Ardycc Ritter reigned in the royal position of Home-coming Queen. Jon Brewer shaped our class matters as president, Clyde Berry as vice-president, LeArdyce Ritter as treasurer, Judy Wenning as service director and Barbara Chiles as secretary. Adding color to the year was the class play “Detective in Spite of Himself”, the spring carnival, band concerts, dances after the games and before realizing it, Baccalaureate and Commencement made our memory book complete. With the twelve years we have spent working for a diploma and the experience and knowledge we gained in high school our future will Ik filled with the innumerable memories we have encountered. 14
