Freshmen work for wins The Freshmen basketball teams suffered a discouraging season this year under first year coach Bob Craig. The two squads. 'A' team and 'B' team. only won 6 games between them while 12 games were lost total. Top scorers and rebounders for the club included: Scott Landis. Keith Davis. and Rick Slaven. The team lacked consistency and therefore had to settle for a record which wasn't perfect but the future is ahead. Far right: Keith Davis drives around his Winchester opponent. , One More Outstanding Season The Wapahani Varsity and Junior Varsity baseball teams ended the Spring and Summer seasons on a happy note. The varsity squad, coached by Mr. Richard Rees and Mr. James Ponto, compiled a 16-1 spring record and a 6-l summer campaign for a share of the Mid-Eastern Conference title with Monroe Central. This was the third consecutive year the team has accomplished this feat. Led by seniors Mike Reynolds, Phil Hazelbaker, and Ron Evans, the team looks forward to the coming year. Members of the Junior Varsity squad look towards earning a spot on the varsity team. Coach Rees has a fine group of underclassmen to work with and has high expectations for them.
