The Wapahani Girls' Track team went into their second year with high hopes and pulled out a 3-6 record. Experience was the only key fac- tor the girls lacked as Coach Julia Irey stressed fundamentals and teamwork. Three Raider girls advanced to the Regional competition. Raiders Look to the uture The 1976 Boys, Track and Field team compiled a respectable 2-4-l record on their way to another Mid- Eastem Conference title. Three meets were too close to call until after the final event with the team tying with Cowan, losing to Burris by two points, and losing to Wes-Del by five. Outstanding performers of the season included Bob Case in the hurdles, and Bill Doughty in the half mile. Both young men ad- vanced to the Regional. Wrestlers have winning season This years wrestlina team started out the season with a four meet win- ning streak, and finished u with a winning record of four an three. The team was young but had expe- rience and was coached by Mr. Owen Suits. The wrestling team laced fifth in the county meet. and ourth in the Muncie Sectional. Many ofthe practices this year were cancelled for the team because ofall ofthe bad weather. The vaca- tion was long and cancelled four of' the seasons dual wrestling meets. The team was led hy the experience of four seniors. Wapahani had one Regional qualifier who was David Markley.
