Warriors have DEFINITELY got spirit! It is evident everywhere and is a major reason for the success of our athletic teams. We show our spirit in many ways: by yelling our hearts out at pep rallies, taking part in extracurricular activities, and even by buying spirit ribbons. Students can al- ways be found supporting the Warrior teams of football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, and wrestling. W ■ ■ ell, Have You Got That Spirit? Students follow that great arrow to get to the Seniors prove it again — the Class of ‘86 is THE pep rally. BEST! WHS- 1 — these cowbells are used to cheer on the team and make noise! 14 OPENING

Warrior World As the upperclassmen move up a year, a new class of freshmen comes to Wando and has to adjust to a totally different world, their home for the next four years. This year’s class had established its identity almost before school start- ed: it was to be THE largest fresh- men class ever at Wando, 600 strong. That did not mean that it would not be totally unlike the other classes in their first years. The stu- dents had to adjust to the new school — familiar questions heard that first week included Where's the gym?” and How do you get to U-pod? — the new teachers, new friends, and in general the many ex- pectations placed on them. Of course, there is also the treatment from upperclassmen that freshmen have grown to fear. In addition to the dirty looks, and offers to buy elevator tickets, the freshmen have had to learn to ignore the directions from Seniors — If you don't see the swimming pool, you're not at the right gym. Freshmen quickly adjust to the Warrior life and prove that they are an important part of Wando. John Howell reflects on his fun night and another Wando Warrior victory. OPENING 13
