Each year Freshmen must put up with teasing from upperclassmen, yet they take it well and realize it is always done m fun. For Freshmen the year is full of fun. excitement and change, and aspira- tion. After all they have three more years A at Wando to enpy the Wando spirit f 16 Student Life 1 David. Gina hopes staring at the books will help with her homework 4 Eric Barnett relaxes m the Wando lunch room FRIVOLOUS FRESHMEN The Freshman class of 1985 was the largest class ever to enter Wando High School. They totaled 565 in all. It ¥ seemed that everywhere you looked there was a Freshman. The Freshmen exper- ience many changes in their transition from mid- dle school. They must adjust to new teachers, friends, schedules and a very large school. A Freshman is easily recognized by the fact that during a class change a confused look will often come over their faces 3 m 3

Spirit is defined as a vigorous sense of membership in a group. That vigorous sense here at Wando is enthusiasm for all that we attempt to do. The sense of belonging in a group is a feeling all Wando stu- dents feel. Each individual feels as though there is a special place at Wando just for him and her. We show our spirit by cheering at pep rallies, attending athletic events and pdrticipating in extra- curricular events. Wando students do all of these things, and, boy, do they do them well! No matter what a Warrior is doing, you can be sure that great Wando Spirit will shine through loud and clear. 3 1. The balloons at Sertoma added that extra touch. 2. The volleyball team really loves Wando. 3. The cheerleaders inspire the crowd with their enthusiasm. 4. The Senior class shows their style Student Life 15
