WANDO AWAITS TT he seemingly short summers have brought about vast changes in Wando in the last ten years — and indeed since just last year. In 1973 when Wando first opened its doors, it did so without a history pod. A pod was just added in the last four years to replace the numerous trailers which Wando had. Also, the smoking area first began as the area between the gym, the vocational building, the band room, and the school. Years, however, have wrought changes in Wando. The trailers, for the most part, are gone — only six remain. The smoking area was changed from its first location to behind A pod, but it is now non existent, thanks to the regulations passed by the Charleston County School Board. The site of the old smoking area has become a courtyard, en- hanced by beautiful flowers and park bench- es. Perhaps the most significant change in Wando was the new stadium. For ten years, the Warrior football teams have used Jasper Green, located next to Moultrie, as a home held. Beginning with the 1983-1984 sched- ule, however, Wando will have its own stadi- um — for both football and track — right behind our gym. The new stadium will add a sense of belonging to the spirit of Wando, and, hopefully, it will add a few more confer- ence victories to our football teams’ records. 1. The sign says it all! 2.
