Legend 1983 Wando High School 1560 Mathis Ferry Rd. Mt. Pleasant, SC Volume X This year marks the tenth anmversity ot Wando High School Wando received its name from the Wando River, named tor the Indians who lived around it in the eighteenth century Wando has made many accomplishments and under gone many changes in its first ten years Three prmci pals have had a hand in Wando s development Mr Bergen. Mr. Reeves, and Mr Scott. We have seen a change in the school's appearance — the old smoking area has become a courtyard, complete with flowers and park benches The school has held eight state champion ships — all in girls' sports. The varsity cheerleaders placed sixth in the nation in 1981 Furthermore, the Wando band has done exceedingly well, constantly com peting and receiving superior'' ratings The Foreign Language Fair, held each year in Ladson, has been dominated by Wando; we have won first place every single year. The Warriors have shown to be generous donating large sums ot money, time, and food to various charities. Yes.
