I admire the teachers at Wando who still remain dedicated to this school while performing the unenviable tasks of discipline and filling out administri- via. This is the only high school in District 2 of Charleston County. Mr. William H. Gilden is Area Assistant Superin- tendent, and Dr. Lawrence G. Derthick is County Superintendent. Mr. Kenneth Wrixon is Chairman of the District 2 School Board. Also serving on the District 2 Board are Mrs. Susan Mellichamp, Dr. Timothy Fitzharris, Dr. John Roitzsch, and Dr. Ken Shuler. Mr. John Graham Altman is Chairman of the Charleston County School District Board. Quentin L. Scott Principal B.S. Degree — Florida State Univ. Ed.S. Degree — The Citadel The “Mainstream” Periodical said this of Mr. Scott: Quality of instruction is most im- portant as Mr. Scott increases classroom visits and spends more time with students by teaching occassional classes. His view of students is that they are “well-mannered, well-dressed, friendly and well-behaved.” Improvements he would like to see are “more autonomy at the building level, to- getherness among the faculty and staff, and positive goals that effect change within a reasonable time frame.”
