ff' One of the many ways in which a student is recognized by her fellow students is by her service to her school. Marcia Bellamy has com- plied an impressive record of service during her years at Wampee. During her freshman year she served as the FHA Chairman of Recreationg as a sophomore she acted as Secretary of the Student Councilg and as a junior she served as FHA Reporter. Presently she represents both her school and her state as State FHA Presi- dent. Marcia has also taken part in every other major activity at Wampee, the school where she is proud to be a member. l 2 The main purpose of a school is to teach. The duty of the student is to take advantage of the knowledge offered by the school. How- ever, this does not mean that a school should be a monastary with its cloistered walls and silent monks. Eddie Coffey is an example of a student who can work hard and still retain a Warm personality and a supreme good humor in the face of a tough work load. Eddie ranks in the top 'tive of the Senior Class. His laugh and warm smile are familiar landmarks around school. High standards of character, and dedication to study, are excellent credentials for any per- son. Herman Holmes personiiies the best in both of these categories. Throughout his high school career Herman has maintained an ex- cellent scholastic average and was his class Head Marshal at last year's graduation. Her- man scored high on both his SAT and National Merit Scholarship tests. Unlike most people, Herman doesn't speak unless he has something to say, but when he does it's usually worth listening to. Herman embodies honesty and integrity in everything he says and does, and Wampee is rightly proud to have him as a representative to the outside world.

Football and basketball, who do these sports bring to mind? Timmie Edge, a classic example of hard work and spirit. Timmie is the kind of guy who's not just satisfied with watching, he has to participate. Timmie has been playing varsity sports for his entire high school career. Perhaps it is not correct to say that Timmie plays, when Timmie is on the field or court he works, and works hard. For his drive and desire Timmie has won the admiration and re- spect of his teammates and classmates. Most recently, he was elected to the All-Conference football team. It is only fitting that he also be placed in this, the Hall of Fame. Ever walk down the walk way, bend over to pick up your books and suddenly be greeted by a cheery hello? Chances are you have, and up- on looking up, you find the warm smile of Amanda Gore. Amanda, no matter how busy, can always find time to greet a fellow class- mate. She is active in FHA, Science Club, Block and Head Cheerleader. In all of these she has served her school well, especially cheer- leading. It is she who has to see that Pep Ral- lies, as well as games, come off with perfection. She has been faced with a lot of problems this year but still has come up shining, such is the mark of a true friend. Ability is not the only component of a good ath- lete. Drive, desire, and spirit are just as, or even more important to play, than the native ability of the individual. Nobody, on any team, plays harder or with more spirit than Sissy Livingston. Sissy is the type of player that people go to see at a game. While she is on the court, she pours everything she has into the game. Off of the court, Sissy is friendly and unoppossing, belying her ferocity in basketball. Sissy has helped lead our girls basketball team to wins preluding the capture of this yearis Runner-up Conference 7-A Trophy. Sissy is more than a great competitor, she is a great person. Mad

Look around the campus and listen for some- thing to be said about 'last nightis game and chances are Donald Edge is doing the talking. Don is one of Wampee's most sports-minded persons. He has played football and baseball throughout his high school years and has played well. Donald has been selected for the title of All-Conference Linebacker in his senior year. In basketball he is not far behind, He played the game in both his junior and senior years. For his athletic abilities Donald is a member of the Senior Hall of Fame, an honor he so well deserves. No matter how gloomy a morning may start off, one cheering note is always sure to be heard around the middle of first period. This is when Myra Joyner flys in with the absentee list. Her cheerful smile and warm laugh are capable of brightening the worst day or the blackest mood. Myra is always willing to help her friends in any way possible, and this is probably the reason you usually find her in the role of peacemaker. Myra is always jovial and friendly, and she is a welcome sight in the smoking area bumming cigarettes, or in the gym bumming a drink. She always seems to carry a ray of sunshine with her wherever she goes and uses it to brighten the people around her ff ' .-fgfr fiqf 'QI' 4. -P.,'-'rfb Y X il -16 ' ,Y K . 5-'ew 1' q bi Rather to be small and shed a light than big and cast a shadow. These words express the personality of Sue Thompson. Her warmth and friendliness make her a favorite wherever she goes. And her friends include almost every- one. Under her unimposing but lovely exterior beats a heart of purest gold. Her high standards are an example to her friends and a source of pride to ther parents. She is a member of many school clubs in which she takes an active part. Sue loves music and plays the piano with the same purity and grace that she does every- thing else. Beauty, character, talent, and per- sonality, it's hard to believe that all of these traits could exist in such an excellent molding of one person.
