F H CLUB Future Homemakers of America is an organization made up of home economics students in high school. The main purpose of the organization is improvement of family and community. The Wampee Chapter of Future Homemakers of America is active in the state and national organization. Locally the chapter sponsors numerous school activities throughout the year. Some of these are: Miss Wampee Beauty Pageant, Christmas Open House, fashion shows, and a Mother-Daughter Banquet. Service Projects in- clude: adoption of a Foreign War Orphan, visits each week to a community nursing home, and provision of a scholarship for a student at Crossnore School. 7,7777 FUT RE FARMERS The Future Farmers of America is the national organ- ization of, by and for boys studying vocational Agricul- ture in public secondary schools under the provisions of the National Vocational Education Acts. The FFA is an extra-curricular activity of the school curriculum. Members learn through active participation how to take part in a public meeting, to speak in pub- lic: To solve their own problems and to assume civic responsibility. The foundation upon which this organiza- tion is built includes leadership and character develop- ment, sportsmanship, cooperation, service scholarship, improved agriculture, citizenship and patriotism.
