THESE ARE THE PEOPLE S 4 I w, gpg .. 'X J-as A . Snug' gg' ' 1 Mr. Shehi who always has a cheery smile and warm greeting for every one is shown here with something else he's never without- - a dust pan! The campus of W.H. S. is quite a lot of work for some- one, and that some- one is gardener Mr. Young. BEHIND THE SCENES AT W H S! The people behind the scenes. The cooks, the bus drivers, and the custodians, keep W. H. S. in running order through the school year, And, that's not easy! Mrs. Shortt and Mrs. Rickstrew were faced this year with that new schedule of 25 minute noon hours with classes being stag- gered. They had to turn to Mrs. Young for help and were quickly relieved. What? You think this would be an easy job? Just try and please 250 kids at the same time. This new schedule helped the bus drivers, too. They were able to get the students home a lot earlier. But that darn mud and ice still has them buffaloed ! Everything from tak- ing inventory to driving the activity bus falls into the catagory marked, Mr. Shehi and Mr. Young! Mrs. Rickstrew and Mrs, Shortt are putting the finishing touches to one of the ? ? ? meals they pre pare each year. 'bl ff,,. Tx -, , rv 41, T , if 1 ., NL 1 ff , 'T ,I E x I M? Lf? S, had no blots on the safety record! Keep up the good work, bus drivers!

The students at Wamego think they have about the best teachers in the world. But ya can't blame them for getting a little mad when all the teachers seem to pour it on at the same time. The folks tell me that, that Pitney kid, Jerry, has double trouble having his mother as the lovable math teacher, but Jerry just laughs and says, Ya know that real smart math teacher up there? Well, l'm her dumb son! But don't let those kids fool ya! There really is a soft spot in their hearts for the faculty of W, H. S. MR. STUDENTS GET THEIR SAY SO IN STUDENT COUNCIL I've heard the kids say that they think the Student Council is a very good thing to have, and they think it's gotten more done this year than ever before, They organized such things as the first TV Show on WIBW-TV, the Fresh- man Initiation Party, the monthly schedule of activities, dances after football and basketball games, and the selling of Savings Stamps. Jerry Ubel receives some expert know-how as he prepares to take over from science teacher, Mr. Nehring, on Student Teacher Day.
