THE RAIDERS FIND THAT TEAMWORK IS THE SECRET OF SUCCESS! THE A AND B TEAM ARE, FRONT ROW: Bill Gieber, Larry Eckart, Don Ince, Bill Doll, Tom Weixelman, Jerry Pitney. SECOND ROW: Coach Paul Markham, Gail Barnes, Jerry Ubel, Ken Guilliams, Norman Beach, Bob Morgan, Bob Lichtenhan, Coach Scoville, THIRD ROW: Manager Joe Griffith, Larry Hayes, Jim Mertz, John Mertz, Fred Kaul, Carl Ebert, and Manager Ted Childers. Four to one is a good ratio when you're from Wamego! Coach Paul Markham began his year at W, H, S. by being blessed with four returning lettermen. Markham led his team to a 15-7 record for the year and to the second place trophy in the Jayhawk League. The biggest triumph of the season was the 70-48 win over Haskell, the League winners! Bill Gieber and Bill Doll were choices for the Jayhawk League First Team while Tom Weixelman received a Second Team spot. Bill Gieber also was: the Champion Scorer for the Jayhawk Leagueg elected captain of the Red Raidersg elected by his teammates as the most valuable playerg and was the first person to re- ceive the Sportsman Award given by the Pep Club. THE FRESHMAN TEAM ARE, FRONT ROW: John Huntsman William Wilburn, Walter Rand, Robert Kolterman, Jerry Lichtenhan. SECOND ROW: Ray Fairchild, Ronnie Nelson, Paul Thomas, Robert Sarna, Bob Marten.
