SIXTH ROW: Barbara Beebe, Jean Hecker, Joan Marshall, Barbara Marten, and Christina Ewing. The two accompanists for mixed chorus this year were Seniors Diane Fecht and Ellen Lolley. Ellen played for the first semester, and Diane got a work-out the last half of the year. Then every once in awhile, they played a number together! ! ! This all female debate squad is something new at Wamego this year, or rather--I guess-revived from about four years ago. They tell me that those gals met some of the best debaters in the State in the tournaments at Topeka, Hutch The debaters look very pleased with the trophy that they won at Hutchinson. K? FIFTH ROW: Herb Bretz, and Jerry Simmers. ALTOS FRONT ROW: Myrna Hilliard, Genita Vogl, Twila Grace, Georgia Carley, Karen Wille. SECOND ROW: Jacky Riley, Helen Kaine, Carol Songs, Ruth Burgess, Sherry Sanborn, THIRD ROW: Ellen Lolley, Jackie Cutright, Ramona McDaniels, Barbara Tanner, FOURTH ROW: Phyllis Kuhn, Sharon Sackrider, Carol Hupe, Mary Helen Mertz. FIFTH ROW: Diane Fecht, Martha Hansen, Donna Stratton, and Wanda Weybrew. Here's a pretty part of school--the vocal department! Vital statistics tell me that W. H. S. supported a 70 voice chorus this year. I've heard them sing at such places as the TV show, music tea, Jay- hawk League Festival, and Baccalaureate. Sounds pretty good, too! The chorus was under the direction of Mr. Donald McGuire.
