At the half tlme of the Wamego Washburn game Martha Week., was crowned queen of homecommg the flrst homecommg queen Wamego 5 ever had Earl Daylor football cap- tam, crowned the queen and presented Martha and her attendants w1th a bouquet of dahhas The attendants were Wanda Chesser, Mary Lou Llppencott, Fanme Bussart and M1ldred At klsson They were brought onto the fleld ln three convertlbles and escorted by the Pep Club m umform The band formed a large heart and played The Sweetheart of Sxgma Clu Red Ralder Memorial Stadlum was the name chosen by the student body for the new fxeld whlch honors hugh school students who lost thelr llves m World War II Mr V1rg1l Haas dlrector of the board of educatxon gave an xmpresslve dedlcatnon SBYVICB.
