Language ,Cab Aids Students Languages are the pedigrees of' nations. -SAMUEL JOHNSON Since Waltrip opened in 1960, the for- eign language department has adopted a new: teaching method-the audio-lingual approach in teaching all the modern languages. Textbooks geared to this approach are used, and there are tapes and records supplementing them. A valuable aid in teaching the modern lan- guage is the language lab, which guides students in learning correct pronunciation and intonation. Listening to German tapes are Lori Wegmann and Roy Mitchell. Mr. Henry L. Azios, jr. B.A., St. Thomas U. Miss Maurine Bates, Chairman B.A., Rice Miss Wanda E.
