cUss will We, the Seniors of 1955, being of sound mind, that is, nearly sound, knowing that we are the most unpredictable and probably the most lovable class ever to leave Walton-Verona High, wish to leave our last will and testament to be executed in the order that follows: To Mr. Ward-We leave the old office, hoping he has a new one soon. To Mr. Smith-We leave the pleasant memories of each of us, with hopes he will find more like us. To Mr. Vest-We leave 100 laps around the gym. To Mr. Day-We leave a larger Senior English Class. To Mrs. Conner-We leave a trunk to take the place of her purse. To Mrs. Shields-We leave a Spanish Class without Senior Boys. To Mr. Roberts-We leave a notebook and pencil to take names for detention. To Sam Vest, Our Janitor-We leave a pack of cigarettes to smoke during school periods. To Herman Caldwell, We leave the rest of the coal to keep the new school warm. To the Cooks-We leave the old cafeteria and a few new recipes. To the Freshmen-We leave the pleasant memories of a short Initiation Day, which we hope they will remember always. To the Sophomores-We leave a reserved bench at the State Tournament in “1957”. To the Juniors-We leave a new Coke Room, which we think is badly needed. To the following Juniors individually: Gene McCubbin leaves his big blue eyes to Russell Amerson. Walt Ryan leaves some of his muscles to Alfred Brown. Shirley Crowe leaves some of her height to June Smith and her shorthand notebook to Louise Brewer. Virginia Ball leaves her hair to Linda Browning. Shirley Austin leaves her ability to be cheerleader in her Senior year to Ora Crowe. Alice Leek leaves her ability to be Vice-President of the Senior Class to Joyce Vallandingham. Shirley Carpenter leaves her long hair and pep to Trudy Gadd. Lois leaves her ability to hold a boyfriend to Rheda Greene. James Burdine leaves his ability to travel to Gerald Ashcraft and his ability to get to school late to Eugene Lay. Daniel Hance leaves his truck to Randall Hall. George leaves his place as center to Charles Hon. Yvonne Flynn leaves Patsy Kerns her ability to keep peace on a date. J. D. Risner leaves hiS ability to get a girlfriend and a car to Terry Lunsford. Mary Cuzick leaves her pony tail to Eleanor Marsh. Loretta Johnson leaves her diewing gum to Janice Osborn. Rose leaves Jean Poole a place on the school bus. Russ Chipman leaves his crewcut to Tony Poole. Ovie leaves his ability to get along with Mr. Smith to Gayle Roberts. Lonzo leaves some of his height to Jim Scott. Jimmy Grubbs leaves his big cars to John Thompson. June King leaves her ability to be the only married Senior to Eleanor Marsh.

the QRumBleR At last, after 12’ years, we can tell the public just what goes on behind the walls of Walton- Verona High School. First, let’s take the school as a whole. There’s never any heat around this dump. You either have to wear your coat all day or you freeze to death. If you’ve ever been on the inside of this school, you can understand why we call it a dump !! Next, comes the wonderful teachers. Oh! What poor excuses we have for teachers. You have honestly never seen anything that will compare with them. For example: Mr. Ward: ‘‘Alias, The Warden”. He tells you one thing and turns right around and does something else. He also says he is a Physics teacher. Boy, have we got news for him! 0 Mr. Smith: ‘‘Alias, Bald Eagle . The nosiest person in school. If you want to know who’s going with whom and where so and so went last night and where they parked, just ask him. Mrs. Conner: “Alias, Pint-Size or Do-Do . She always yells at the Seniors for diewing gum. You’d think the least she’d do would be to let us chew gum, after everything else we put up with. Another thing, she is always standing in the hall at noon, telling the Seniors to be quiet. You can’t even hold hands with your boyfriend or girlfriend at the breaks without her watching you. Mrs. Shields: “Alias, Cootie”. She’s always trying to make the Junior Class look like angels, but we know better. Mr. Robert: “Alias Robbie . You’d think he owns the school the way he struts around. He thinks he can sing, too, but the Seniors had to spend good money on ear plugs. Mr. Day: “Alias, Smiley”. He never says anything! You’d think he was a mummy or something. Mr. Vest: “Alias, Dike”. He is commonly known as our Basketball Coach. To think he has the nerve to ask our SENIOR BOYS to run laps around the gym. The least he could do would be to have the rest of the team do it for them. Now, we go to the Janitors: Mr. S. Vest and Mr. H. Caldwell: They are called Janitors, but they never clean up this dump. They could at least clean the SENIOR ROOM. They also have the nerve to stand in the halls and smoke in front of the Seniors. Now the Cooks: ENOUGH SAID!! Next, the School Board: If it can be called that!!! What a bunch! They never let us have any school dances or parties, then they are the first to call us Juveniles if we get into any trouble. Last, but not least, The Under-classmen: They never let us be first in the line for the lunchroom like they should. Another thing, they are always trying to have Bake Sales and etc. before us. The least they could do is to see what we have planned first. Now you can see why we are so glad to get out of this PLACE. We close with this thought, “We hope we have all your sympathy as that is one thing which we need badly.”
