cUss histoRy In September 1951, thirty-three F reshmen started the long struggle of High School. They were Eddie Adams, Jim Burdine, Russell Chipman, Nolan Cole, Gerald Dixon, Jim Elam, Ovie Griffith, Jimmy Grubbs, Daniel Hance, James Howard, Walter Isbell, Stormy Linton, Gene McCubbin, J. D. Risner, Walt Ryan, George Scon, Stanley Treadway, Warner Wilson, Shirley Carpenter, Shirley Crowe, Mary Kay Cuzick, Yvonne Flynn, Ann Gamble, Lois Glenn, Loretta Johnson, Alice Leek, Louise Mercer, Elva Mullins, Viola Mullins, Rose Poole, Bobbie Reynolds, Mary Kay Wilson, Frances Ross. During the first semester Gerald Dixon left us to join the Army. Jim Elam left us to join the Navy. During the second semester Warner Wilson left us to move to Crittenden and Ann Gamble moved back to Louisville. Mrs. Newton was our sponsor that year. Initiation Day and our trip to Mammoth Cave were the outstanding activities of the year. When we started our Sophomore year we had twenty-two students enrolled. That year Eddie Adams left us first semester to join die Army. Stormy Linton left us to get married. During second semester Stanley Treadway left us. Our sponsor that year was Sammie Burns. Our trip to Clifty Falls and Cumber- land Falls were the outstanding activities of the year. When we enrolled in the Junior Class we had twenty-two students. During the first semester we gained Shirley Austin from West Virginia. During the second semester we lost Patsy Hancock who went back to Crittenden. James Howard left us to join the Air Force. Nolan Cole also left us. Our sponsor was Buddy Rouse. The outstanding activities was our trip to Natural Bridge, Class Play and the PROM. Then came the best yearofall, our SENIOR YEAR. We enrolled with twenty students. During the first semester we lost Bobbie Reyonlds to get married. We gained Virginia Ball and Lonzo Gadd. Mrs. Conner was our Sponsor. We were all very busy during this year, with the annual, X-Ray, class play, sneak day, Baccalaureate, Class night and last but not least. Commencement Night.
