Walton Braves Grab Victory FIS Falls I2-0 ln Rugged Beattie The Walton Braves captured their second game of the season Friday night by downing the Fla. Industrial School 12-0, in the first of a five-game home stand at Harbeson Field. The Braves seemed to oe some- what spiritless and' lacked the fight and drive that usually pre- vails among the club, especially during home games. This can be explained by the fact that Coach Wilson had more or less built the backgield aroundg Royce Phi'-lips, and the loss of the fleet-running little back called for a complete change with only a week to do it in. The game was slowed consider- ably by the calling of 33 penalties, which showed Walton losing 110 yards and FIS back-tracking 80. Walton's first score came with 2 minutes 16 seconds remaining in the first quarter, on a 32-yard skirt around left end by hard run- ning Tommy Spence. The second time tie Braves crossed the dou- ble line was on a punt return by Spence's running mate, Raymond Hall, in the third period. 1-fall traveled 68 yards for the longest run of the night. Karick and Holley attempted 1381 passes, completing 5, with two of them being called back because of infractions of the rules. FIS completed 8 in 18 tries. The Braves will meet one of the toughest opponents of the year Friday night when they tangle with Catholic High of Pensacola. The game is scheduled for 8 p. m. at Harbeson Field. Coach Wilson announced Tuesday that Tormny Spence, whose outstanding nun- ning kept Walton in the game-Ei'i- day -night, will be 'sideliuedi for the Catholic affair. Spence is suf- fering from a recurrence of an in- jury sustained during baseball season. The' changes to be made in the backfield will see Ralph Rhodes at FB, Charles Carlan at RHB, Glenn, Lindsey at Defensive FB and Bruce Bass as Linebacker THE WALTONIAN WALTON HIGH SCHOOL, DeFuniak Springs, Florida Braves Downed 13-12g Meet Crestview Friday Walton Braves lakes Will Win DE FUNIAK SPRINGS. The Braves travel to Crestview Friday night, and then after a week's rest will be in Marianna.
