' 26-The juniorclassjourneyed to Newtonfore class party. 25-The freshmenandnew facultymembersbecamefullfledged members of the High School at theannusl initiation. They enjoyed the mud, water, ice, and shock immensely!! October 1-The sophmores sksted rnd ste in Newton. 12-The Pep Club sponsored s box supper with the customary 2 15 15 21 22 25 29 30 suction of the boxes, a cake walk, and a bingo table. -Trick dog show. Assembly. ' -The freshmen had a hay rack'r1de. Cupid went along! -Wichita University had Walton as guests at their debate contest. -The spooks visited the town while the entire community enjoyed a Halloween prrty inthe school gym. Various groups furnished entertaining booths and the seniors served. -Teachers meeting--Vacation--Whoopee1! X -Mrs. McKnight served a supper to the junior play cast. -Junior play--NPleased ts' Meetchs'.u -The school music department presented the Thanksgiving Program. -25-Thanksgiving'vacation. ' -Mr. Pankratz came to take over the Music Department. -G.R. Conference at Marion. Ten girls attended. -Preliminary Forensic contest was held at Walton. 7-Members of the Welton Forensic team went to the league 20 contest at Wlndom. -The Christmas Program was given by the school music organizations. -Mr. Buhler-arrived to become our new superintendent. -First semester ended. Mrs. Buhler jo1ns'stsff. -The teachers and board were honored st a dimmer which was served by the Home Economics Department. -The X.W.C.A. ladies served a community supper followed by an amature contest. -The junlorsgave apanel discussion on PeaceT1me Military Conscrlption. , ' February 7-879-WALTONA WINS TOURNAMENT!! Walton took first plsce February March 7- March 6-7 at the McPherson County League Basketball tournament in McPherson for the first time. February 14-Valentine Dey. A 27-28--Merch l-2-District basketball tournament st Sedg- wick. Walton finished in second place. The Mother-Daughter banquet sponsored by the G.R. girls -3 was held 'ln the community building. The H1-Y boys served the banquet. -9-Regional Basketball Tournament was held et wlchlts North High School. Walton was edged out by Pretty Prairie in the semi-finals. March 20-The music department journeyed to McPherson for the Hc- Pherson County League music clinic. March 23-Music was in the air at Burns. Walton entered the Burns April 5- Th contest. e senior class attended a party at Mrs. Wrightks home. April 12-Wsltonpresented itsone actplay, nNe1ghbors,Hat Marquette.
