Homecoming '79 was a day to remember. It started off looking like rain during the parade and pep rally. The Class of '83 won 1st place with their float, Mup-up the Marauders. Later that day the Walton Warriors crushed Sherburne Earlville in a 56-13 triumph. During halftime the band per- formed a field show which featured the color- guard's dance. Also during halftime the court was introduced and the queen, Sharon Constable, was crowned by last year's returning queen, Kelly Turner. Besides Sharon Constable, the court included: Jayne M. Budine. Laurie Fletcher, Brenda Hoyt, Kellie Peck, Mary Jane Ryan. Alyson Sheradin, Connie Turner, and Dawn Warren. Later that evening a dance was held. At 10:30 the team and court toasted the Orange Crush Vic- tory. An end to a perfect day. n

THE BLUE TIDAL WAVE The Moving-Up Day ceremonies of 1979 were anything but peaceful and uneventful. Although it was new and exciting for most of the underclassmen, it was a time of sadness and parting for the seniors. For most of us, it wras the last time we would see them all together. Still, it was fun for everyone. The seniors began with a re-run of their roles in their kindergarten graduation. Dressed in costume, everyone in the class recited poems, danced or sang. Much of this was funny enough to make us weep; some of it was bad enough to make us weep. too. Then it was time for all the classes to move-up to their new seats. The most impressive move was the one provided by the Class of '80. The entire class, dressed in matching blue t-shirts, resembled a great tidal wave as they moved into their justly deserved spot: first place in the newly acquired senior section.
