IVY TOWER BIG TOP WALTON CENTRAL SCHOOL WALTON, NEW YORK WORDS AND MUSIC BY H. FRANCIS MILES Beloved Alma Mater, our thoughts around thee cling, Beloved Alma Mater, thy praises high we sing, Tho seasons roll away. We'll sing our loyal lay, For in thy torches glare, shine Wisdom, Power there. CHORUS: We love thine ivied towers, thy quiet and peaceful bowers... Halls of learning, loud our cry, Alma Mater, Walton High. Oh cherished Alma Mater, our steadfast shining light. Oh cherished Alma Mater, thou shinest thru the night. In fair Minerva's Hall, We're held in loving thrall, Oh fostering Mother dear, abide thou ever near. CHORUS: Oh Walton's sons and daughters, as on thru life we go. To our loved Alma Mater, remember what we owe. Our debt we'll pay to thee, by lifelong loyalty, And choosing right from wrong, raise high our joyous song. CHORUS: We, the Yearbook Staff, dedicate the Yearbook of 1960 to Dear Old Walton High. Not only we, who are here today, appreciate the good standing of our institution of learning, but those who have passed this way before us, are proud to announce that they attended W. C. S., and learned to appreciate the real value of education. Our excellent teachers instill in us principles of living, with patience and kindness, It is with these deeds, and more, that our love for the Ivy Towers has grown throughout the years we have been here. It is with real sadness that we realize the time is drawing near when our Dear Old Ivy Towers will no longer ringand echo with cheery voices because the construction has already begun on a new and modern junior-senior high school The memories of Walton High will always linger with us. In this small way we wish to express our feelings toward Dear Old Walton High. 4 DEDICATION FRONT: J. Miller. B. Kelley, J. Miller, J. Brush, D. Mace, J. Felter, S. Salton, B. Desbiens, J. In the past sixty-nine years thou- sands of students have graduated from Walton Central High School. In its day, our school building was one of the best in the area; at present, however, it is out-dated. As we move into the new school, we are certain that the high standards and fine traditions of our school will be more important than ever. Since our school has such a memorable list of accomplished students, sportsmen, and others who have received great honors, we feel we have something of which to be proud. As we seniors graduate from Walton Central, we will never forget the excellent training this school has given us for the future. We will also carry with us the memory of all the happy occasions we had at Walton High.
