Halls of learning, loud our cry, Alma Mater, Walton High! The year book of 1951 has attempted to assemble the events of the year in an informal manner. We are presenting this book in hopes that it will meet with your approval. Wishing will make it so if you know what you want and are willing to work for it. The winners in life's game are not always those who have the most brains or the most advantages but those who know what they want out of life and set themselves to get it. There is nothing so valuable as a set purpose and a determination to follow it out to a successful conclusion. If you want a good education, I believe it is within your power if you have the determina- tion and willingness to work to get a rich store- house of knowledge. People who know what they want ask no odds of anyone. They just go ahead getting nearer and nearer their goal. Of course, all of us get tips and help along the way but no one is benefited who doesn't know what he wants! Knowing what you want is the first step to any success in life. The reason there are so many flounderers in the world is they do not know what they want, so no one is interested in helping them. We make life complicated by not knowing our own minds. If we would only decide what it is we want! Know what you want then go about working toward that goal. It takes faith, confidence, decision and determination and undying effort.
