YEARBOOK DEDICATION fnghd Mnjames McDonnell, Yearbook Advisor with our Editor-in-Chief Stephanie Turner. YOU'VE GOTTA LUV THOSE LIONS Kbelowj Lisa Noke, our Business Editor with Mr. james McDonnell saluting the Nittany Lions on their National Championship. 4 l l Q l hen it came time for me to make my decision for the yearbook dedications I stood back and thought about who had been there to help the Class of 1987. It didn't take me long to decide. Mr. james McDonnell has always been there to help the class. If it wasn't for him this yearbook would not be possible. An award-winning yearbook takes time and demands devotion. Both of these he was readily willing to give. Throughout the past four years I have watched Mr. McDonnell work with the yearbook staff and sometimes it was a bumpy tide, but with the loyalty of such a driven man like him, how could it possibly fail? Many cards and letters have come back to congratulate him on the outstanding job he has done, but to him it's the kids who have done it. During his fourteen years as yearbook advisor we have won many awards. 18 Dedication Since 1978 we have been nominated for the prestigious Printers Industry of America Graphic Arts Award. This award is usually the prime domain of the college books. We have entered the New England Competition seven times and we have finished with 6 first and 1 second , the last four years we have been the top book in New England. When I decided on the dedication I wanted it to go to someone who believed in the Class of 1987, someone who took time to help us as a whole, I feel I have made an excellent decision. I car1't put this in the book without him knowing, so I want to tell you Mr. McDonnell that you are extremely worthy of this dedication and I am happy to give it to such a fine man. Stephanie Turner Editor-in-Chief

If he key ingredients in an award-winning yearbook are a strong theme, good writing, and excellent photographs. The latter has been a constant here at Waltham High since 1975. That was the year Mr. McDonnell fit the last and most important piece to the puzzle by hiring Mr. Terry Bleiler as our official photographer. Since that time Terry has been a fixture at all Waltham High School's events. Working closely with the yearbook staff to provide us with the pictures we need to put our theme across is just one of his many strong points. Terry also works with the many different personalities here at Waltham High and always does an excellent job. Terry covers close to forty schools, but he makes us feel that we W YEARBOOK DEDICATION fIeHj Editor-in-Chief Stephanie Turner and Mr. Terry Blerler. y YOU'RE NUMBER WITH US fbelowj Mr. Terry l Blerler of Purdy Vantme Studios. are his only account. On many occasions Terry has re- shot pictures because he felt the quality was not up to our standards. Terry also gets to know a majority of the seniors and makes each and everyone of them feel important. Terry also serves as our official publicity director by proudly showing our book to all of his accounts. When he goes to a new school to bid the only yearbook he brings is ours. I would like to thank you on behalf of all our past editors you have worked with. Without you we would never be Number 1, but thanks to you we are. So it is with a great deal of pleasure that I dedicate this edition of the Mirror to Mr. Terry Bleiler. Stephanie Turner Editor-in-Chief ik ft Dedication tl
