No one man could be as dedi- cated to a cause as Mr. James McDonnell was to our yearbook. He offered ideas and concepts that helped make this book one of the best. Those who read and enjoy this book will never realize, as much as the staff, the hard work and long hours he has put into it. Besides his help and perseverance, Mr. McDonnell gave us the confidence and motivation to continue on. He gave us the opportunity to have something that we will always have pride and satisfaction in saying we were a part of. It was a tough year, yearbook wise, for all, but when one sees even a part of the book com- pleted, the problems and frustra- tions don't seem as great. To see the perfection in this book, one knows that it couldn't have been done any other way, with any other staff, and especially with any other advisor. Thank you, Mr. McDonnell, for everything. Carol Corcoran - Co-Editor x' I-it 1 . -- ---- i f -1r i- 1 -i-- ivi ' Advisor - Mr. James G. McDonnell Bob was a member of our Suburban League Champion football team. At Gradua- tion Exercises, Bob received the James Falzone Memorial Scholarship and he will attend Boston College in the fall. Stephen participated in Senior Revue, and Class Day. He was Master of Ceremo- nies at Graduation, and was a member of the National Honor Society. With his out- standing contributions of art he has made this edition of the Mirror a book of which the Class of 1978 can be proud. I will always be thankful for his dedication and enthu- siasm. He has enlisted in the Air Force where he will begin a career in law enforce- ment. Dave was also very active in school participating in soccer, basketball, Class Day and drama productions. He was Chairman of Senior Breakfast and President of the National Honor Society. At Graduation Exercises, Dave received a University of Notre Dame Scholarship, where he will attend in the fall. Ed was very active in school participating in track, drama productions, Class Day, and was a member of the National Honor Society. At Graduation Exercises, Ed received two scholarships and will attend Notre Dame University in the fall. James G. McDonnell -- Advisor macy, in the fall. me and l will always remember her. Sports' Editor - Mary Caban, Sales Edi- tor - AnnMarie Lockwood, Ad Editor - Maria Abbondanzio To the Class of 1978 The task of assembling a yearbook is a demanding yet pleasant one: a frustrating yet rewarding job. Often the process encompasses a multitude of experiences which ultimately pro- vide the foundations of fond memo- ries. Such memories I recall when I remember the day one of the seniors took his time and patience to help an old man ski from Zermatt to Cervinia. I remember our prayer session in the auditorium that day in March. I remember the puppet show in Room 275 of the lnverurie Hotel and the Strollers Party Time Cruise. Most important l am forever grateful to the many students who went out of their way to be nice to my son in Bermuda. Next year and in future years, when the going gets tough, I'll just think back to Class Day of 1978 and the beautiful memories engendered by my contact with this exceptional class and l'll get my encouragement to con- tinue my work. As the song says lf you leave me now you take away the very heart of me, I also add, I have memories of The Way We Were. Sports' Editor - Bob Lupinski, Design Editor - Stephen Taranto, History Edi- tor - Dave Doneski, Ass't History Editor - Ed McCarthy Cabe, our resident track star, participated in Senior Revue and helped coordi- nate our sports' section.
