For the past five years my one goal for the yearbook was to pro- duce a book complete with theme, A art work, and purpose. This past l year my editors, Carol Corcoran, Mary Coyle, Joanne Mula, and Lisa Strazzullo helped me to obtain this goal. Mary, the force behind our open- ing section, participated in Senior Revue, and was co-author of the Senior Notes. At Graduation Exer- cises, she received over S5000 in scholarships, including one from Wellesley College which she will attend in the fall. Mary coordinated all the copy in the book and, thanks to her, our book is uniform in scope. Lisa was a member of the Junior Prom Committee and worked in the house office during her sophomore and junior years. At Graduation Exercises Lisa received two scholar- ships totaling 5500. Memorial Dedication Fondest Memories of 0ur Friend Ricky Poirier To have known him was to have loved him, He made you feel next of kin. His days of life were full of love, With the light of his love like the flight of a dove He fought hard to win his battle, Ready and willing with bull and saddle. Why so young and eager at heart, As he pushed and pushed that hefty cart. Harder and harder were we to pray, Hoping our voices were heard each day. Our voices were heard hour after hour, When Ricky was taken and given special power His friendship remains within our minds, For he was much more than kind, Memories we share are stronger than force, That we some day will also follow his course. As different each course can and will be, We share and cherish each memory. In Memory of Our Friend Greg Aborn God took you from this earth Without explaining why. There must have been a reason Why he chose you to die. You were such a young man With a whole life to live. You never did take much Yet you had so much to give. You'll always be remembered By that twinkle in your eye, That silly smirk, your sense of humor lt's hard to say good-bye. Those of us who knew you well Are hurting deep inside, For we've lost such a dear friend Whom we'll remember with pride. We love you, oh, so dearly And know you love us, too. You'll always be remembered And our happy days are few. A Special Friend Diane Weeks lf only God had let us know How little time there was We would have made you understand How much you meant to us. You brought a lot of happiness To everyone you knew. I only hope we let you know, How much we all loved you. Our memories are precious ones Secured within our hearts Of a friendship that was dear to us With these memories we'II never pa rt. Although you are not with us now Together we'II always be ln the hearts and minds of all of us For all eternity.

No one man could be as dedi- cated to a cause as Mr. James McDonnell was to our yearbook. He offered ideas and concepts that helped make this book one of the best. Those who read and enjoy this book will never realize, as much as the staff, the hard work and long hours he has put into it. Besides his help and perseverance, Mr. McDonnell gave us the confidence and motivation to continue on. He gave us the opportunity to have something that we will always have pride and satisfaction in saying we were a part of. It was a tough year, yearbook wise, for all, but when one sees even a part of the book com- pleted, the problems and frustra- tions don't seem as great. To see the perfection in this book, one knows that it couldn't have been done any other way, with any other staff, and especially with any other advisor. Thank you, Mr. McDonnell, for everything. Carol Corcoran - Co-Editor x' I-it 1 . -- ---- i f -1r i- 1 -i-- ivi ' Advisor - Mr. James G. McDonnell Bob was a member of our Suburban League Champion football team. With his out- standing contributions of art he has made this edition of the Mirror a book of which the Class of 1978 can be proud. I will always be thankful for his dedication and enthu- siasm. He has enlisted in the Air Force where he will begin a career in law enforce- ment. Dave was also very active in school participating in soccer, basketball, Class Day and drama productions. Sports' Editor - Mary Caban, Sales Edi- tor - AnnMarie Lockwood, Ad Editor - Maria Abbondanzio To the Class of 1978 The task of assembling a yearbook is a demanding yet pleasant one: a frustrating yet rewarding job. Often the process encompasses a multitude of experiences which ultimately pro- vide the foundations of fond memo- ries. Such memories I recall when I remember the day one of the seniors took his time and patience to help an old man ski from Zermatt to Cervinia. I remember our prayer session in the auditorium that day in March. I remember the puppet show in Room 275 of the lnverurie Hotel and the Strollers Party Time Cruise. Most important l am forever grateful to the many students who went out of their way to be nice to my son in Bermuda. Next year and in future years, when the going gets tough, I'll just think back to Class Day of 1978 and the beautiful memories engendered by my contact with this exceptional class and l'll get my encouragement to con- tinue my work. As the song says lf you leave me now you take away the very heart of me, I also add, I have memories of The Way We Were.
