MR. EARNEST VISCARELLO Vocational Director Vocational-School The objective of vocational education has always been, and shall continue to be, the pre- paration of boys — and girls in increasing num- bers — for profitable employment upon gradu- ation from high school. Through the develop- ment of occupational skills, under conditions approximating as realistically as possible those of the world of work, the student learns to relate in meaningful fashion the theoretical why of the classroom to the practical how of the shop or laboratory. While trade and industry have an almost insatiable appetite for the potentially skilled craftsman and technician, they have need, too, for the well-motivated but lesser-skilled voca- tional graduate. Thus it is that we would be remiss in our dedication to the goals of the vocational education if we did not make pro- visions for both types of students. Left to Right: Mrs Lucchese, Mrs. Lawless. 18
