Stfrewzfrd We have lived through three of the most eventful years of this Century. Great men have arisen, great men have died in this short span of time. Newly inde- pendent states have appeared onthe face of clark Africag supreme power in nations has been entrusted to new leaders, some capable, others radical. There has been conflict and there has been happiness during these three years, which form only an infinitesimal grain in the sands of time. We, the Class of 1961, have been witnesses to the making of history. In our yearbook we have recorded the men and events that have occupied such a promi- nent place in our lives and in the eyes of the world. . As we record these personalities, we wonder whether time will erase many of the names of today from the chronicles of the world, or if these names will with- stand the test for immortality. How many footprints will remain on the shifting sands of time? The Editors Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime, And departing, leave behind us, Footprints on the sands of time. The Psalm of Life LONGFELLOW
