The football boys chose Beverly Anderson, a junior girl, for an attendant of the football queen. Katherine Walton was chosen Turkey Queen from other candidates of the county. Shirley Walton was the runner up in the Annual Queen Contest. Katherine Walton represented ourclass as a school cheer leader. We have had the concession a number of times to raise money for our junior and Senior banquet. The junior Play Nleet Corliss Archer was presented February 14. It was enjoyed bv all who attended. The junior and Senior float won first in the Armistice Day Parade. Our theme was Blood Donations. The Dramatics Club is open to all highschool students interested in speech and dramatics activities and this is its third year of organization This year there are thiry four members enpyle Secretary Billy Reece Owens Program Chairman and Beverly Anderson, Reporter The first proyect of the group in collaboration with the Thespian troupe, was the presen tation of Father of the Bride which was the all school play This popular play drew an en thusiastic response from the audience and profits from it financed the year s activities The unxor Play whose cast was composed largely of Dramatics Club members was the famous teen age comedy Meet Corliss Archer Members of this group also took an active part in speech tournaments attending the South western district meet and the Southem Six Conference event In addition the group conducted a drive for costumes to supplement the school s wardrobe for future plays This project brought in a number of useful additions and created a lot of inter est in the costuming of plays The last activity of a year full of work and fun was the Senior play, presented in late April Z . . The Walters troupe is now in its third year and serves as an inner circle of the Dramatics Club Members gain admission through accumulation of points given on the basis of cooperation dependability and initiative as well as acting ability. This year members have served as leaders in all dramatics activities, including the all- school play ' Father of the Bride and the costume drive. Two Thespians won second and third place prizes in the Lawton Voice of Democracy con- test. They were David Penn and june Jackson. Several others did outstanding work represent- ing their school in speech tournaments. The Thespian Motto: Act well your part--there all the honor lies.
