lass 11sLo1ry -Af ef nf In September, 1936, school systems around the world were glven a great b1g shove toward greater goals because the Senlors of '48 of Walters H1gh School were enroll1ng 1U grade school, and the next twelve years were 1ndeed prom1s1ng ones Dur1ng the pr1mary and elementary grades the teachers were constantlv ama ed at the talent the resourcefulness, and the bra1n power of these up and com1ng c1t1zens of the Walters School System Eternally and forever we were d1splay1ng unusual ab1l1ty and rare w1t These asp1r1ng lHd1V1dUa1S are credlted w1th the dlscovery of new and better paperwads and the patent on how to get blgger and better bubbles out of worn out bubble gum One of our greater 1nvent1ons 1s, w1thout a doubt, the new econom1cal, and unorthodox method of COQYIHQ wlthout belng caught In the year of 1949 we graduated w1th honors Ah Junlor Hlgh School Such ecstasy' Such elegance' After all u at 1161 a mark We were lntroduced to the superlor Freshman, and real1zed for the f1rst t1me that we really were grow1ng Slowly, but surely, we got accustomed to the long per1ods and court1n' 1U the halls Bv the t1me we became e1ghth graders we could hold our own and more too when 1t came to dates and calls to the offlce By the tlme we were Freshmen we were old experlenced hands 1U the arf of datlng and apple pollshlng the teachers We really set a record IH these years by havlng such a good Jun1or Hlgh basketball team We enjoyed a Valent1ne Party at the Teen Canteen, served at the Junlor, Senlor Banquet and to end th1s fun packed year we had a wonderful tr1p to the W1ch1ta Mounta1ns The Junlor vear was one of our buslest 1U school We pract1cally took over the ootball and basketball teams We set a record w1th our Junlor Play Spooky Tavern We used the Gypsy background as our theme for Jr Sr Banquet We so ended th1s year w1th a trlp to the W1Ch1Ia Mountalns Th1s year all three off1cers of the Student Councll were from our class At last' At last' The year we have always looked forward to Now we are the b1g dogs Though our class has always been outstandlng lH athlet1cs we were partlc ularly sh1n1ng th1s year by hav1ng our entlre football and basketball team made up of Sen1ors Our class has always been outstandlng lt has always taken an actlve part 1D all the school aCIlV1T16S HOBO DAY Our class had hobo day Aprll l On th1s day every Senlor had a part on an assembly program then we went to the W1ch1ta Mountalns for a p1CH1C SENIOR PLAY The Sen1ors had a very magnlflcent three act play th1s year Thenmmewms Dm Smshuw TWIHSH, and lt dlsplayed much of our talent BANQUET We had a very n1ce banquet from the JUHIOTS DIPLOMAS Every Senlor la look1ng forward to Lommencement and FGCGIVIHE U15 d1Pl0ma ACTIVITIES The Sen1ors made up the f1rst teams 1D basketball and football We were represented 1D all the other dCf1Vltl6b of the school as well 1 0 1 .
