Av-Lib Club The Av-Lib Club creates wider interest in reading, and develops leadership abilities. The Av-Lib Club members act as student assistants in our Media Center. They arrange interesting bulletin boards and displays. The Av-Lib Club sponsored the Book Fair that was held from Nov. 16-18. The Fair encouraged student interest in reading and in building home libraries, (first row) Officers: Treasurer, Jacob Teasdell; President, George Deal; Secretary, Shirley Stone; Program Chairman, Pam Overton, (second row) Advisor, Mrs. Godwin; Geneava McNiel; Joanne Pierce; Jackie Rush; Harriet Washington; Linda Garris; Nina Halier; Advisor, Mrs. Muckenfuss. Future Business Leaders of America The FBLA Club is a national organization for all students enrolled in business subjects. The purpose of this club is to prepare the students with experience for their future in business. 1. The WHS Band of Blue outdid themselves this year with top ratings in every competition. 2. During the band’s performance at a football game, John Smoak plays his solo guarded by rifle girls Merlene Drawdy, Renee Maree, Robin Gerideau, and Marie Siegler. 3. WHS band director Mr. Bill Young and assistant director Mr. Randy Pruett certainly are proud of the accomplishments of their Band of Blue. 4. Drum Majors for the mighty Band of Blue are Mathias Chaplin and Kim Lommen. 5. Practicing for a performance, Ricky Harrison and Jesseca Fields play along with the band. STUDENT ACTIVITIES 19
